Read more Pasados del Presidio Students enjoyed learning to weave baskets, identify artifacts, make tortillas, and more. The fine arts students visited the Pasados del Presidio's Afternoon Fun for Kids event on June 24th, which featured life and stories of Early California. Organizers sought to commemorate the Presidio's past through the arts and oral tradition, and the afternoon included music, dance, Ohlone storytelling, and exhibits. Read more Young at Art Award Ceremony Koret Theater Fei Tian Academy of the Arts California would like to congratulate 7th graders Linda Lei, Alice Kuang, and Jocelyn Su who placed first, second, and third place respectively in the middle school short story category of the 2011 Young at Art Competition. Young at Art Festival Koret Theater Event organized by the SF Unified School District. All Fei Tian dance students shall perform. Senator Steinberg's Summer Youth Fair Southside Park After a cold, windy, overcast morning in Sacramento, the sun lit the stage for Fei Tian's classical Chinese dance performances, which warmed the audience's hearts. Potrero Hill Neighborhood House This multicultural event, hosted by Potrero Hill Neighborhood House and FeiTian Academy of the Arts, featured guest performers from Live Oak, ISA, The 'Nabe, and Starr King. Students shared their talents in dance, music and fine arts. The event also served as a fundraiser to provide scholarships for students in need to pursue classical arts education with Fei Tian. Special thanks to Dr. Frank Gilson from Potrero Chiropractors & Acupuncture, PHAM president Keith Goldstein, and Everest, in addition to all our local sponsors and Supervisor Malia Cohen for supporting community arts! We're on TV! Principle Fengxuan Cao along with dance instructor Kokuei Chen and six of his students appeared live on New Tang Dynasty's "Living 100%" talk show. United We Dance Saturday, April 30, 2011 Kofman Auditorium In celebration of "National Dance Week", Alameda Civic Ballet presented United We Dance, an exuberant celebration of ethnic dances from around the world, on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Kofman Theater, Alameda. Fei Tian performed Water Sleeves, Ancient Chinese Male Warrior Dance, and Resounding Drums in front of an audience of 700. San Francisco's 20th Annual Spring Celebration and Easter Parade Union Street ~ Gough to Fillmore, San Francisco Among many other San Francisco organizations, Fei Tian's full-time Dance students performed a classical Chinese drum dance in the parade. Children's Day & Book Day at SF Main Library San Francisco Public Library, Main Branch, Koret Auditorium Alongside many other San Francisco schools, Fei Tian's students from After-School and Weekend Programs performed on stage at the SF Main Library. We presented the beauty of traditional culture to our local community through various colorful classical Chinese dances. |
