Pasados del PresidioFriday, June 24, 2011 Students enjoyed learning to weave baskets, identify artifacts, make tortillas, and more. The fine arts students visited the Pasados del Presidio's Afternoon Fun for Kids event on June 24th, which featured life and stories of Early California. Organizers sought to commemorate the Presidio's past through the arts and oral tradition, and the afternoon included music, dance, Ohlone storytelling, and exhibits. Fei Tian summer students enjoyed themselves, and particularly enjoyed opportunities to learn about new crafts and cooking. Several students made necklaces, for example. Others learned about the art of basket-weaving and were able to try it out.
