ESL and ACT students have been excited about their opportunity to visit and tour the University of California Berkeley last Wednesday August 10th.
Students in both groups are motivated to go to a high quality college, and in some cases may not have another opportunity to visit Berkeley again either due to time constraints or distance. Delphine, a student from Belgium who is attending university this fall, asked specifically about an opportunity to visit, curious to know what a large, high-quality American university was like.
The students left the school at 9:00 am to arrive on campus before the 10:00 am tour time. The tour itself lasted 1 hour 30 minutes, and included an introduction to important locations on campus, university history, student life, academics, and time for questions by students. As at Stanford during the first session, Fei Tian summer camp students were prepared to ask about aspects of the school that concerned them.
Following the tour, students enjoyed a stop at the student store in addition to a picnic lunch of sandwiches, juice, chips, and cookies before returning to campus for the afternoon session.
